There is reason to believe that the only lasting competitive advantage that any business can have consists of getting extraordinary results with ordinary people. When leadership mobilizes The Driving Force and nurtures it, a business can achieve and maintain a lasting competitive edge. In this presentation, Mr. Schutz shares personal experiences as CEO of Porsche AG in the 1980s to achieve such a posture. The presentation is illustrated with references to Porsche racing activities in that period. The techniques presented have been applied successfully by a number of modern management teams. Mr. Schutz will be available following his keynote address for book signing and photo opportunities with the displayed Porsche outside the exhibit hall.

Description: Andre Gudger was appointed to the position of Director, Office of Small Business Programs, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense in March, 2011. Mr. Gudger is responsible for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) small business policy and ensuring DoD achieves the statutory small business goals. Mr. Gudger will discuss updates for 2012 DoD plans and initiatives to achieve the 3% service disabled Veteran-owned small business goal and changes in DoD acquisition policy that will impact small businesses particularly Veteran-owned small business.
